Privacy policy

Khuvela operates an online coaching marketplace. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider) and, if you provide it, your phone number.

Coach listings: for coaches, the professional information you publish — biography, credentials, specialties, photo, rates, availability and contact details.

Activity: bookings, instant requests, group enrolments, reviews and payment records. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; Khuvela does not store your full card number.

Usage data: basic technical information such as pages visited, used to keep the service reliable and secure.

We use personal information to run the marketplace: creating accounts, matching requests with coaches, processing bookings and payments, sending notifications about requests and sessions, displaying coach listings, and keeping the platform safe. We do not sell your personal information.

Coach profiles — including the photo, biography, credentials, rates and the contact details a coach chooses to publish — are visible to visitors of the site. Clients' names are visible to the coaches they book. Your profile details are otherwise only visible to you and to people you transact with.

We share information only with the service providers that run the platform (hosting, database, authentication, payments and email delivery), and only as needed for them to provide those services. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as required for legal and accounting purposes. Access to personal information is restricted through row-level access controls on our database.

You may view and correct your profile at any time from your dashboard. You may request a copy of your personal information, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by contacting the Khuvela team. Deleting your account removes your profile and listings; records of completed transactions may be retained where the law requires.
